Overview (Program Summary)

Corporate venture capital (CVC) and strategic investment programs have become important tools for companies to invest in and partner with high-growth technology, life sciences and other companies.  These programs provide their corporate investors with access to creative and nimble companies that are creating new products and services in their industries, may create substantial financial returns, and may serve as future acquisition targets.  In 2020, nearly 1,000 CVC investors deployed more than $73 billion across more than 3,000 transactions.   In recognition of the growing role of CVC and strategic investors in the innovation economy, this panel of experts will discuss best practices in building, developing, and growing CVC and strategic investment programs,

Discussion topics will include:

From the Investor point of view:

•                  Reasons for implementing CVC and strategic investment programs

•                  Governance of such programs, including the role of in-house counsel
