The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) is the world's largest organization serving the professional and business interests of attorneys who practice in the legal departments of corporations, associations, nonprofits and other private-sector organizations around the globe.

Join ACC

Formed in 2010, the African American Managing Partners (AAMP) Network combines the talents and experiences of over 50 African American attorneys in the U.S. who either current manage of have managed a national law firm or one of its offices.

The Network’s members are dedicated to increasing opportunities for African American lawyers, and to assisting corporations and other businesses in their efforts to increase diversity and inclusion within their staffs and outside counsel they retain.  To accomplish these goas, the Network strives to provide general counsel and other in-house counsel with educational assistance, strategies for talent identification and development, substantive legal services, and information on successful diversity initiatives.

The AAMP Network maintains a list of recommended, senior African American corporate lawyers at law firms across the U.S and Canada.  The Network encourages legal leaders looking to diversify their teams to reach out to the practitioners on this list:  https://connect.bdlaw.com/24/580/uploads/african-american-outside-counsel-recommendations.pdf.

Mindful Inspiration: How to Start a Well-being Movement for Your ACC Chapter by Olesja Cormney, Jill Kalliomaa, and Jeffrey Compangano

Editor's note: This article was written before the coronavirus outbreak.  Like all ACC Networks and Chapters, ACC Southern California has postponed all in-person events until the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or local governments recommend.  In the meantime, join one of the Chapter's webcasts, and focus on your well-being (and your community's) by practicing social distancing.
